Dmitry Medvedev and Vladimir Putin enjoy day fishing and scuba diving

The leaders’ public statements, appearances and schedules have been
scrutinised in recent months for signs of rivalry, a likely timing of the
decision or early evidence that the decision has already been made.

Mr Putin ruled as president from 2000 to 2008 before handing over to Mr
Medvedev to comply with a constitutional ban on a third consecutive term. He
will be free to run in the March vote.
